Analysis of rehabilitation methods of pipelines  of hydropower plant dehydrating systems

Summary

In modern fast developing cities it becomes more and more difficult to respond promptly to different defects of the utilities systems. This applies specially to large-scale infrastructure projects, e.g. hydropower plants. The difficulty of carrying out repair works invol­ving excavation at the facilities is related to the placement of equipment and fittings, dehydration and drainage system pipeline route. Different methods of pipeline rehabilitation and upgrade eliminating excavation are considered; the technologies are described. The principle of the works execution is set. The analysis of rehabilitation methods was carried out. The expediency and efficiency of using the methods of rehabilitating pipelines of hydropower plant dehydrating systems was substantiated. To simplify the selection of the pipeline rehabilitation technology the comparative characteristic of the methods considered is given; their advantages and drawbacks are specified; the obtained data are tabulated for display purposes. The executed analysis showed that application of cement-sand mortar is the most expedient method of rehabilitating the pipelines of hydropower plants dehydrating systems in tough environment.
