Introduction of «Vodokanal» automated control system

Summary

The experience of introducing and operating an automated system of process control of water distribution and sewage networks of Gorvodokanal of Novosibirsk MUE is presented. The unitization and upgrade of the hardware and software allowed establishing an integrated information data base, integrating silos of data and estimating the efficiency of the entire enterprise. «Vodokanal» automated control software system is a geographical information system of the municipal water and sewage networks linked with the information block of control and operational services, and consists of three blocks (control, analytical and engineering department section) and network map. The use of the software system provided for improving the speed and efficiency of data processing. According to the estimations the operational efficiency of the software users was improved by 10–15%.

Methods of Assessment of Technical State and Residual Resource of Pipelines of the Moscow Water Supply and Sewerage Networks

Summary

The goal of investigation of water supply and sewerage systems of Moscow conducted by the Center of technical diagnostics of MGUP Mosvodokanal is the assessment of technical state of networks and development of recommendations for their further operation, reconstruction and relaying. Methods of the complex diagnostics of steel pipelines of water supply network in manifolds, pumping stations’ piping, underground pipelines laid in soil and steel pipelines of pressure sewerage network have been developed. When determining the time of possible safety operation of pipelines of water supply and sewerage networks, these methods make it possible to take into account all types of the most intensive influences contributing mainly to formation of stressed-deformation state that improves technical validity and reliability of results obtained.
