Automated System of Control over Technological Process of Filtration

Summary

It is told about the stage-by-stage realization of the project of automation of the filtration process at the pumping-filtering station of the city of Novosibirsk. In the first place equipment of automated monitoring of parameters of the filtration process and equipment were introduced. The stage-by-stage introduction of the automation system on the basis of monitoring results makes it possible to optimize the process of filters washing. Owing to the correct adjustment of fittings and control elements it is possible to reduce the quantity of wash water by 18%. The second component of reducing wash water consumption is the optimization of a period of filters washing. By the parameters controlled (head loss, turbidity, capacity, position of valves during the washing) it is possible to increase the time of a filtering cycle by about 2 times which reduces water consumption for filters washing. The developed solutions of the stage-by-stage introduction of automation of control over the technological process make it possible to use them at analogous filtering facilities.

Wastewater Aftertreatment on Granular Bed Filters

Summary

Problems of the wastewater aftertreatment on granular filters of different design are described. Advantages of Ecopolymer drainage systems at reconstruction of these filters are shown. On the basis of generalization of its firsthand knowledge the Ecopolymer Group of Companies in the course of designing of wastewater aftertreatment uses rapid filters with descending filtration, air-water washing and rinse water low discharge system consisting of Ecopolymer sand-catching chutes and stream-guiding protuberances. Filters are equipped with the Ecopolymer drainage-distribution system consisting of drainage filters and Ecopolymer aerators. Conditions required for successful operation of wastewater aftertreatment rapid filters are defined. Results of operation of such filters designed by the Ecopolymer Company are presented.

Microfiltration removal of phyto- and zooplankton

Summary

The results of pilot testing DynaDisc microfiltration system manufactured by Nordik Water Produkts AB for capturing phyto- and zooplankton are presented. The tests were carried out at the treatment facilities of Volzhsky and Izhevsk water and wastewater companies by the experts from Ionoobmennye tekhnologee CJSC. The data on the efficiency of using microfiltration during water reservoir blossoming that results in reduced rapid filter loading and water quality improvement are presented.
