Investigating the efficiency of using corrosion inhibitors for conditioning of water with high salt content

Summary

The results of experimental investigations in one of the recycling water supply systems at the gas processing plant experiencing the problem of high-rate biological growth are presented. Recycling water from the system was characterized with high salt content, high chloride and sulphate concentrations. The use of inhibitors in water treatment provides for reducing the corrosion rate in heat exchangers and pipelines.

Local facilities for plating wastewater treatment

Summary

The analysis of the operation of the existing facilities for plating wastewater treatment is presented. The results of the upgrade of structures and introduction of a system for reusing plating wastes after treatment are presented. The work was carried out at an operating enterprise in the automotive industry. The designer was given the task of providing for the tertiary treatment of effluents that had passed processing at the neutralization plant in order to return the effluent to the main process cycle. The implementation of the project for designing a system for effluent reusing ensured meeting the regulated indicators of process water for the washing operations of an industrial plating plant.

Repeated Use of Supernatant Water Generated in the Course of Treatment of Sludge from Water Treatment Plants

Summary

Results of the laboratory investigation of the process of treatment of flows generated in the course of treatment of sludge at water treatment plants using the flocculants of different types are presented. Two flocculants used at the Moscow State Unitary Enterprise Mosvodokanal, Praestol TR-650 and BC-852, have been evaluated. A few flocculants making it possible to treat the flows (discharges) maximally have been also selected for comparison. An assessment of influence of addition of flows to influent water coming to the facilities of the Eastern water treatment station has been made. Results obtained confirm the necessity of preliminary treatment of flows with flocculants before their supply to the head of facilities. When untreated flows are added the necessity of increasing the doses of reagents used may arise.
